The Counselling Room – Space for healing

Welcome to The Counselling Room

Thank you for your interest. My name is Carolina, and I am a

professional mental health practitioner dedicated to helping

individuals on their journey to well-being.

I offer an integrative counselling approach that

provides holistic support—addressing psychological, spiritual, and

physical health—creating a balanced sense of personal well-being.

My approach is grounded in over 10 years of experience in pastoral

counselling and care, which has given me a profound understanding of the healing process. However, my therapy style is not limited to a

single method. Instead, I offer a comprehensive approach that

includes:

  • Christian Counselling - Rooted in faith, this approach brings spiritual insights and support into the therapeutic journey, helping you integrate your beliefs with your healing process.
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – A practical, solution-focused method that helps you recognize and change negative thinking patterns and behaviours that may be holding you back.
  • Person-centred Therapy (PCT) –A collaborative, non-directive approach that empowers you to lead the healing process at your own pace, fostering a sense of autonomy and self-awareness.
  • Psychotherapy – A deeper exploration of the unconscious and past experiences that influence your present behaviours and emotional patterns, helping to bring greater clarity and understanding.
  • Crisis Intervention (CI) – Immediate, focused support during times of personal crisis, helping you cope with challenges and move forward with strength and resilience.

Having worked with diverse populations, I understand the importance of creating a culturally competent and inclusive therapeutic environment. I offer counselling and psychotherapy in both English and Spanish, ensuring that language and cultural differences do not become barriers to healing.

It takes courage to embark on a journey toward a healthier,

purpose-driven life. If you are considering this path, I would be

privileged to support you along the way. I look forward to hearing from you.

How It Works

The Therapy

The true worth of therapy lies in you—the individual. I focus on helping you recognize and harness your inner strengths, supporting you in becoming emotionally congruent and aware of your own abilities to heal and grow.

Therapy with me offers a safe, confidential space, built on the core conditions of empathy, unconditional acceptance, and genuineness. These conditions create an environment where you can feel truly welcomed and free to talk about your concerns.

Together, we will explore your challenges in a way that allows you to reconnect with your true self, bringing fresh insights and a more genuine perspective to your circumstances.

My Role

As your therapist, my role is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. I am here to walk alongside you in your therapeutic journey, offering guidance as you explore your thoughts, emotions, and life experiences.

I focus on empowering you to reconnect with your inner strengths and abilities. Together, we’ll work toward emotional congruence, helping you develop greater self-awareness and confidence in your ability to navigate life's challenges.

Through empathy, unconditional acceptance, and genuine care, I aim to provide the core conditions needed for you to feel comfortable sharing and healing. My goal is to support you in uncovering your own path to growth, healing, and personal transformation.

The Therapeutic Process

As we begin our work together, the therapeutic process will help bring clarity to your circumstances, allowing us to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in depth. Our goal is to build a strong therapeutic relationship, where we can work collaboratively to address your needs and goals.

Sessions are typically held on a weekly basis, each lasting 50 minutes. Both face-to-face and online meetings are available, offering flexibility to fit your schedule and preferences.

Frequently Asked Questions

1 - What happens in our first session?

In our first session, I will explain my approach to therapy in more detail, allowing you to understand how we will work together. This is also an opportunity for you to share your expectations for the process, ensuring that we are aligned in our goals.

We will review key elements, such as confidentiality, data protection, and the frequency of our sessions, to establish a clear and respectful framework for our work. From there, we will begin exploring your difficulties and start the journey toward healing and personal growth.

2 - What would you talk about?

In our sessions, you are the focus. I am genuinely interested in you—in how you feel and what you’re going through. Our time together will be dedicated to whatever you need to talk about.

We will take the time to unpack your thoughts and emotions, exploring them in depth. By the end of our session, my hope is that you will leave with a deeper understanding of your circumstances and a clearer sense of how to navigate them.

3 - How long will we work together?

There is no set timeframe for therapy. If you’re considering talking about your difficulties, it’s possible that you’re ready to begin the journey of self-discovery and healing. Throughout the process, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and over time, you will come to know when you’re ready to move forward.

When the time comes to end therapy, my hope is that we can make that decision together. We will reflect on your journey, appreciate the progress you’ve made, and discuss how you feel about the next steps as you continue moving forward in life.
